Fukien Tea (Carmona)

Native to the Fujan province of China, this tree has small white flowers that can bloom at any time. The foliage is dark green and small in size. The flowers turn into red berries that turn darker with age. Trained in the traditional curved trunk style. Loves the heat and does great indoors. 25 years old. 19″x15″x25″. Potted in a 15″ brown rectangular mica container, as shown. Suitable 14.5″x10.5″ hummidity tray is recommended.

Ficus Too Little Root Over Rock (Ficus Benjamina ‘too little’)

Miniature cultivar of the popular Ficus Benjamina with very small leaves and compact growth habit. Trained with the roots growing over a large textured rock and then down into the soil. Trident Maple (Acer Buergerianum)

Well known for the superb colors of its foliage in autumn. The bark is a dappled pale brown and exfoliates with age, revealing a grey, orange and brown color. The small leaves (which resist scorching during drought) have 3 short lobes close together - hence the name “Trident”. The spring flowers are inconspicuous and the new growth is often bronze to purple. Very popular for bonsai because of the small handsome leaves. Decideous. Juniper (Juniper Procumbens ‘nana’)

This dwarf Juniper from Japan is the most popular evergreen in the U.S.A. When we think of a traditional bonsai and what it should look like, we think of a “Juniper Procumbens Nana”. They are very hardy, long-lived, and tolerate many adverse conditions. This is an excellent tree for the beginner.
