Japanese Kingsville Boxwood (Buxus Microphylla ‘Compacta’) – Large

Native to Japan The Kingsville Boxwood is an extremely slow growing tree. It has the smallest leaf of all boxwoods which is why it is sought after for bonsai. The Kingsville Boxwood is an evergeen tree with light green leaves and has excellent branching characheristics. A great indoor bonsai recommended by the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. 14 years old. 8″-10″ tall. Potted in an 8″ ceramic blue rectangle container. Suitable 10″x8″ humidity tray is recommended.

As a hardwood, Merabu is one of the world’s most stable woods, rivaling the stability of of Teak and is 150% as hard as Red Oak. Not only is it a most attractive accessory, but it has vital strength properties comparable to that of European Beech and better than many other joining timbers. White flowers are attractive during late spring and early summer. Does well indoors. One of our favorites. 5 years old. 6″ tall. Suitable 4″x6″ humidity tray is recommended.
